Shola is our favorite market in Addis. It’s a low-key version of Mercato that you can visit without being pick-pocketed or harassed nearly as much. This is the market that locals frequent and we love it for its fair prices, friendly shop owners and wide range of things to buy!
Maybe you saw Shola Market on the CNN Parts Unknown episode with Bourdain or you stumbled across it on TripAdvisor. But Addis Eats tours have been visiting Shola Market since we opened our doors in early 2013 and we’ve built great relationships with the vendors.
